Drake possesses the kind of fondness for warm-weather holidays that is common among people who were raised in cities with severe winters. Once he's off the clock and in the sun, the celebrity rapper definitely knows how to let loose and have fun, as evidenced by the pool selfie that went viral across the world as well as his trip to Turks and Caicos with an admirer named Jack Harlow. After the release of his seventh studio album, Honestly, Nevermind, he embarked on a tour of Europe that was so extensive and attention-grabbing that it made headlines. During this tour, he let his hair down in every city he visited.
Drake has been on a posting binge ever since he arrived in Ibiza. He has been sharing shirtless tanning images (also known as thirst traps), videos of the luxury yacht that he and the OVO team are renting, and...a British kid's meme rap about Love Island. However, those events are nothing in comparison to the odd narratives that have taken over social media in recent years. There is a good chance that you saw the hashtag "FreeDrake" somewhere on your newsfeed on July 14. This was in response to a rumor that the rapper had been detained by Swedish authorities. His staff disproved the claim by telling The Hollywood Reporter that it was not true, but it did not put an end to the drama.
Drake published what seemed to be a letter from Swedish police with the header "Information for Those Suspected of a Crime and Subsequently Detained" on Instagram on July 17. The document purportedly indicated that he had contact with law authorities. Online users expressed anxiety after hearing rumors of a run-in with the police because ASAP Rocky was arrested and held in Stocklholm for one month in 2019. (Drake's Instagram post also contained photographs of his buddies in a club and what appeared to be a nice cocktail in a cage; therefore, it is evident that he wasn't really stressed about the whole situation.)
Drake proceeded on to Saint-Tropez in Southern France once the problem in Sweden was resolved. While there, he spent time with Suede Brooks, a young influencer who is only 21 years old, on an outing that Page Six described as "yacht hopping." According to Entertainment Tonight, the two have actually known each other for some time and have mutual friends. However, the question of whether or not there is a love spark between them remains unanswered.
Unfortunately, Drake's lovely holiday on the shore was ruined by a single annoying and relentless bee. This resulted in the creation of a video in which the rapper can be seen laughing hysterically as he tries to escape being stung while also performing a dance similar to Fat Joe's "Lean Back" routine with a side of Milly Rock, all as his pals frantically try to get rid of the insect. Later, he added on Instagram, "I hate bees on god," which is conclusive evidence that Drake will never be accepted as a new cast member on Jackass.
He has also been seen going out to celebrate with some of the people who collaborated with him on Honestly, Nevermind. Reportedly, he has been doing so at the same kinds of venues for which he composed this dance music. He was seen at a party with the album's executive producer, Black Coffee, and more recently with members of the Keinemusik collective. Members of that collective, &ME and Rampa, are responsible for the production of "Falling Back" and "A Keeper."
And if you were afraid that Drake wasn't traveling in style, there's no need to be concerned about that anymore. According to Page Six, the "Coral Ocean" yacht that he and his friends are utilizing has a weekly cost of $660,000. In addition, he has been employing his trademark plane, the baby blue Air Drake, which is a private Boeing 767, for longer distance flying. [Shudders] (The aviation services company said that it "has had a lengthy history with Drake, hauling supplies and equipment for his tours in the past") According to BitLux Travel, the plane is a "ongoing gift from the Canadian cargo carrier, Cargojet."
However, a journey with Drake would not be complete without at least one instance of his attempting to flirt with a female companion in the most bizarre manner imaginable. On July 21, Drake posted a photograph to his Instagram story that featured a woman who was oblivious to the fact that she was being photographed. He added in the text message, "Tried to airdrop this chick an image of herself because she's a dime." It is deliberately absurd, which is typical of his vacation-gram style: They have been inundated with memes that are self-aware, such as the following example: "[Wow] my ex just posted on her story with her spouse and three children and she had on a red shirt." As you are aware, ten years ago I said to you that my favorite color was red. Get over me already [you] huge goofball."
It is quite doubtful that we will have our last experience with Drake's vacation antics given that he is currently on his second extravagant trip of 2022. Please, God, have mercy on all of us.
