Hilton plans to open 11 new hotels in the Caribbean and Latin America in 2022.

Hilton reached the midpoint of the year 2022 with continuing growing momentum in Latin America and the Caribbean (CALA). In the first half of the year 2022, the business opened 11 new hotels, bringing the total number of properties in its CALA portfolio to more than 190. This number represents about 15 percent of Hilton's footprint in areas of the world other than the United States. Hilton's deep-rooted commitment to development across the region is as strong as it has ever been, as the company expects to open its 200th hotel in CALA by the end of 2022. Hilton's aggressive expansion plans include a pipeline of 105 properties, and the company is planning to open its 200th hotel in CALA.

Hilton inaugurated 11 hotels with more than 2,100 rooms across seven brands and six countries in CALA during the first half of 2022. This brought the total number of hotels and resorts in its portfolio to more than 190, with more than 35,000 rooms welcoming visitors throughout 27 countries and territories. At the same time, the company announced that it would launch an additional 15 hotels in the latter half of 2022, and it also inked 15 new development deals, bringing the total number of projects in its pipeline up to 105, with roughly 15,750 available rooms.

With the opening of the 735-room Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya All-Inclusive Resort in April 2022, Hilton was able to bring the total number of resorts in its all-inclusive portfolio in the Caribbean and Latin America to 10. This resort was Hilton's first all-inclusive offering in Tulum and the company's largest resort in the Caribbean and Latin America. As a result of its most recent opening, Hilton now provides guests with a total of six all-inclusive resort options in Mexico, in addition to two in the Dominican Republic and one in both Curacao and Jamaica.

Conrad Hotels & Resorts, one of the three unique luxury brands owned and operated by Hilton, has revealed that it will open its first hotel in Mexico or the Caribbean in January 2022, and it will be called Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya. This luxury property set the stage for Hilton's expansion in Tulum, one of Mexico's premier destinations, with its bold design, exquisite dining, a sustainability program, and transformative experiences. It also built upon the brand's presence in Mexico following the opening of Conrad Punta de Mita located on the country's Pacific coast in the year 2020.
Tru by Hilton, a unique hotel brand that caters to guests of all ages and generations, recently launched its first property in the Caribbean and Latin America, the 154-room Tru by Hilton Cricima. This event took place five years after the opening of the brand's first hotel. The company intends to proceed with its CALA expansion and currently has seven projects in the planning stages, one of which is the launch of the Tru by Hilton Monterrey Fundidora, which is scheduled to take place later on in this year.
Following the debut of the DoubleTree by Hilton Trujillo and the Hilton Garden Inn Lima Miraflores, Hilton celebrated the inauguration of its tenth hotel in the country with the debut of the Hampton by Hilton Arequipa.
With the opening of Botanika Osa Peninsula, Curio Collection by Hilton in Costa Rica and Royal Palm Galapagos, Curio Collection by Hilton in Ecuador, the Curio Collection by Hilton brand became the first international hotel brand in the Galapagos Islands. Ecuador also became the 30th country and territory for the brand to welcome travelers to its growing portfolio.
The opening of the Rok Hotel Kingston, Tapestry Collection by Hilton marked Hilton's return to the capital of Jamaica. It was also the first hotel of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton brand to be located anywhere in the Caribbean.

As we look to the future, the business anticipates opening about 15 additional hotels in CALA across 10 brands by the end of 2022. These openings will take place in a variety of locations, including Brazil and Mexico, amongst others. Upcoming 2022 opening highlights include Waldorf Astoria Cancun, which is the highly anticipated arrival of the luxury brand in Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula. Other highlights include Motto by Hilton Tulum, which will be the brand's first hotel in CALA; Tru by Hilton Monterrey Fundidora, which will be the brand's first hotel in Mexico; DoubleTree by Hilton Foz de Iguacu, which will be Hilton's first hotel near the famous waterfalls in Brazil; and

The broader CALA development pipeline of 105 properties owned by Hilton extends to a total of 24 countries and territories. Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic are the five destinations that make up more than 50 percent of the company's growth plans, as measured by room count, in the region.
